St. David’s United Church is an inclusive community focused on worship, outreach, education, and pastoral care. We host diverse activities for all ages, and invite everyone to come and explore our church community!
Sunday morning worship offers a warm,
welcoming atmosphere filled with joy and laughter—a place where all are encouraged to come as they are, and participate in whatever way feels comfortable.
From the moment you arrive, you'll be greeted by friendly faces who are happy to answer questions, help you find your way, or simply offer a warm smile.
Our Welcoming Committee compliments the door greeter by welcoming people, asking how they’re doing, and listening to their response. We provide St. David’s information packages and help anyone interested get a name tag.
There's no dress code at St. David's United Church. God welcomes us just as we are - all creatures great and small.
Music is an important part of our worship, as we join together in song, accompanied by talented instrumentalists and vocalists (including a choir). Lyrics and service elements are displayed on large screens. Large print lyric copies are available, as well as hearing assisted devices. Please ask an usher or greeter if you need help finding these items.
Communion services are held five times per year. Christ's table is open to everyone.

St. David’s United Church began taking shape in the early 1950s as Woodstock experienced rapid growth. In 1952, representatives from Woodstock’s four United Churches began exploring the possibility of establishing a new congregation in the east end of the city.
By 1958, plans were well underway. Families in the area expressed strong interest in a new church and Sunday School, and a student minister, David Allen, began leading weekend services.
On January 11, 1959, the first service was held at Huron Park Public School, with 120 adults and 67 children in attendance. Later that year, Oxford Presbytery officially recognized the new congregation, initially called Springbank United Church. In 1960, the congregation chose the name St. David’s United Church.
The congregation first built a manse, completed in 1961, before turning its attention to a permanent church building. Construction began in 1962, and the new church was dedicated on March 31, 1963.
Over the following decades, St. David’s grew through the dedication and generosity of its members. Sunday School attendance reached 268 children in the mid-1960s, and in 1984 a new Christian Education Wing was added. Membership continued to grow, reaching more than 600 in the 1990s.
Throughout our history, countless volunteers—especially the women of the congregation—have worked tirelessly to support the church and many charitable causes through fundraising, fellowship, education, worship, and service.
Today, while our congregation is smaller than it once was, St. David’s continues to live out its faith and serve the community. Our mission remains:
“Celebrating Faith, Family, and Community.”
